Snow days!
Generally, this long weekend has been quite pleasant! I had Thursday and Friday off college because of the snow, although i still would've been able to make my way safely to college(But obviously closing college for two days was an appropriate form of action...)! Thursday basically involved me catching up with the week's homework which I'd left (not unusually) for the day before it was meant to be handed in. To my delight, i also managed to fit in a snowball fight with Barbie (the wonderful 8 year old sibling) in which i can safely say was a clear triumph on my part. The best part was when she aimed a massive chunk of snow in my direction from about a metre away and still managed to miss by a sizable distance. Apart from that she did manage to actually hit me a couple of times, I'm not the fastest of runners, and she is quite fast. The first part of Friday involved me stuffing myself with copious amounts of food at good ol' Pizza/Pasta Hut (mmm nachos) and during the afternoon i saw 'Slumdog Millionaire' which was quite enjoyable, albeit a little depressing at times. On one of the advertisements outside the cinema it was called the 'feel good film of the decade'. I didn't feel that good in parts, considering people die quite often in the movie. Still, it was an enjoyable 2-3 hours. Afterwards returned home, to begin preparation for my Liverpool Medical School interview in a couple of days time. I also started listening to an audio book (which I've never tried but found surprisingly enjoyable) of 'The Lovely Bones' by Alice Sebold. Yes i was in tears for practically all the time i spent listening to it. Although I've heard of people criticising the book for her depiction of heaven, i think that she's done exceptionally well on something that is infinitely difficult to describe or picture, and it's not as predictable as some people argue. Well i think she did a grand job anyhow.
